Visitors may be surprised when audio content is automatically played, especially if the device is set to full volume. It can irritate them and cause them to leave your website immediately. If you're going to post audio content or use an audio plug-in, make sure your visitors can use the play button rather than having it play automatically.

This depends on the website. There are many that, since it is something thematic, the audio sounds good, but preferably it is not usually recommended except in specific cases, since if the audio that is played is the opposite of what one is looking for on the website through which they entered, it will clearly be a bad idea and will make your future clients leave your website.

Once I was a staff on a website where the admin had automatically playing music. I had to always pause the audio when I logged in. I hated it but I had to continue to tolerate because I was a paid staff. People don't like distractions while visiting websites.

Websites should refrain from automatically playing audio because it disrupts user experience, especially in quiet or public settings. I’ve closed sites immediately when startled by sudden sound.

From what I read in the comments, we all totally agree that a website that automatically plays audio is extremely frustrating and annoying, right? In addition, the audio sounds extremely loud, sometimes it even scares you because of how loud it sounds, you don't even expect it, clearly it is not a good idea to add audio to a website

I have never been able to understand why some website owners want music playing automatically when someone visits their site.

I have had this happen a few times, and each time, my volume was up loud, and it didn't half frighten me.

Websites should avoid auto-playing audio because it can annoy users and disrupt their browsing experience. I’ve noticed that unexpected sounds often make people leave a site quickly, especially in public spaces or when multitasking. Allowing users to control audio keeps engagement positive.

Holy smokes it gets me nuts. I never used videos that would autoplay and ALWAYS hated it with a passion :D
