This year we some interesting development in the field of social media. We saw the release of Threads and we say BlueSky moving from invite only platform to open platform. What do you think social media scene will look like in 2025. Which social media site will dominate 2025 and beyond?

I think TikTok is really trending. While I consider it to be a piece of junk and wouldn't create an account if you killed me, it does have a huge growth :(

I strongly believe that TikTok will continue to dominate the social media landscape in the year 2025. In my case, I love the said social media platform for the entertainment and educational value it provides. While some people think it's a waste of time, I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Hehe

The longevity of Whatsapp should not be underestimated. Since the time its inception, it has gained rank as one of the most used social media platform. And there is no sign of it backing down anytime soon.

I don't think so. During the last Presidency, Trump threatened to ban Tiktok. Maybe he would do it this time. If Tiktok is banned in the US, it will lose a large user base because most users come from the US. The second biggest demography was from India and Tiktok is already banned in India.

I'm glad I'm not only one who has absolutely zero interest in TikTok. There's enough on my plate already , never adding TikTok to it.

Well, you will have to see Tiktok through different lens. Tiktok has a huge user base in the US, especially in Gen Z. Interestingly, Gen Z is also a a generation who spends a lot of money buying things. If you judge Tiktok in terms of business promotion, you will find value in it.

As much as different social media platforms are seeing a lot of surge in new members and how they are being used, I think all of them are still going to be playing catch up with Facebook. This is because Facebook is always going to be the biggest social media platform in the world.

Predicting one dominant social network is tricky since audiences keep shifting. Right now, TikTok leads in engagement and cultural influence, especially among younger users. Instagram remains strong for brands and creators, while YouTube dominates long-form content. However, niche communities on Reddit and Discord are growing fast. The future might not belong to one platform but to ecosystems where users move fluidly between several based on purpose and mood.

Right now, TikTok seems most likely to dominate the social media landscape. Its short-form video format captures attention faster than any other platform, and its algorithm does an excellent job of showing users exactly what they want to see, keeping engagement high. Brands, creators, and even small businesses are leveraging TikTok for growth because it offers massive reach without requiring a big ad budget.

While platforms like Instagram and YouTube still have strong user bases, TikTok’s influence on culture, trends, and consumer behavior is unmatched. Its ability to drive viral content and sales gives it an edge, especially among younger audiences who prefer fast, visual, and authentic content over traditional posts.

Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram in this order is how I see social media platforms ranking in terms of being dominant for just about anything that's related to promotion of businesses. I've closely used Facebook and YouTube for ads and they are quite impressive with the numbers I get.

There are many social media networks that nay continue to grow. TikTok is growing and it is becoming very popular and now it is also used by many businesses as well. This means that it is commercialized and now it will grow more. Having said that, YouTube is also growing and it will compete with other networks.
