SEO is important for business, marketers, content creators, and website owners. Therefore, SEO is one of the most talked topics on the world wide web. What is the worst SEO advice ever give to you? Some of the worst SEO advice I have heard are:
Use linkfarms to get ranking
Comment anchor links are still useful in 2024
Write 100 articles per month
You can actually rank #1 on Google in 24 hours
You don't need SEO when you do PPC ads

To be honest with you, I've had my fair share of terrible SEO advice as well. One that I can remember is when someone told me to do keyword stuffing in my content and I found out that it sounds unnatural. They claimed it would boost my rankings, but it only ended up hurting my website.

If you add more than 5 percent keywords in your content, your content will fail to attract search bots as well as human readers. This is one of the black hat tactics used by many people. It is so tempting to use more keywords but we need to keep it natural by limiting to less than 5 percent.

'You can actually rank no 1 on Google in 24 hours'
That sound familiar. It used to come from all the wannabe coaches and mentors who deceive novices, they would sugarcoat their words in such a way that it will be almost impossible to not believe.

The most ineffective SEO advise I got from a friend is to stock my content with keywords instead of maintaining high quality standards. Following that advice brought me bad experiences because it made Google penalize my website.
