Both reviews and testimonial are quite important. Both of them can make new clients trust your business. I have seen both reviews and testimonials of customers of many businesses in many places over the internet. This makes me wonder what is the difference between the two. I think reviews are related to products (i.e. how good was the product from customer's point of view). On the other hand, testimonials ate not that different. Testimonials could be related to services being offered by the company to the customer. So, what is the main difference between these two things?

Review is a rating about, for example, the product that was bought in your store, on the other hand, testimony is, for example, how well the product that was bought in your store has worked for them over time, suppose it was a weight loss product, well that product in that period of time worked wonders for them and made them have positive results, then that person comments on their testimony stating that the product has worked, on the other hand, a review can be, for example, someone praising the good treatment your store provided them, in addition to how quickly the product arrived at their home in your store, that is why that person recommends your store, that can be a review, do you understand the difference?

I see testimonials as positive, often curated customer statements used for marketing. Reviews are more spontaneous, honest feedback found on platforms, showing a wider range of opinions. Testimonials highlight strengths; reviews reveal real user experiences.

There is not much difference. review is basically related to a product or service and it could include both positive and negative points. testimonials are also reviews but they are more related to positive experience of the customer. Instead of reviewing products and services, testimonials analyze over all experience.

Testimonials are more of narratives of the entire experience with a business. It is always longer to capture all. Reviews are often shorter and always has a rating. I think that testimonials might be more convincing than just a review though.

Testimonials are usually curated, positive statements from satisfied customers used in marketing. Reviews, on the other hand, are often unsolicited and posted on public platforms, they can be positive or negative. Reviews build trust; testimonials strengthen brand credibility.

Testimonials are feedbacks given by the customer to the business. For promotion, it is the business that displays the testimonials. Reviews on the other hand are published by the customers on other third party platforms. Reviews are not under the control of the business or brand to be published.
