A forum needs one or moderator to function it properly. In an active and a big forum you might need a lot of moderators. You can either give them super noderator permission or keep them for certain section. When you have kept them to certain section, frequent rotation prevents burnout and bias, however, there might be reduced consistency. How often do you change duties of your moderators? Does rotation improve fairness or disrupt workflow?

I believe rotating moderator duties can reduce burnout and prevent authority from clustering, but it needs structure. Smaller teams benefit from shared workload, though frequent shifts can hurt consistency. Bigger forums, on the other hand, often see better results because rotations spread emotional labor and keep coverage steady. A slow, predictable rotation, supported by clear documentation, usually keeps moderation stable and fair.
