Engagement can grow when people feel appreciated. Do you use badges, ranks, or spotlight posts to recognize active members? Have you found non-monetary incentives that boost long-term participation?

You can reward loyal users by giving recognition and status. Highlight top contributors in posts, add badges or special titles, feature their content, or give early access to discussions. Public acknowledgment and exclusive privileges make users feel valued and keep them engaged. And this does not cost any money.

Recognition goes a long way. I use simple public appreciation like featuring thoughtful posts or thanking helpful members in updates. Badges and ranks can help if they feel meaningful, not gamed. People respond well when they feel seen and respected, and that kind of genuine acknowledgment strengthens long-term engagement more than prizes.

One of the ways which you can reward your communities loyal members without spending money is by offering them account upgrades that is going to improve the features they have in the community.

Account upgrades are usually done with money or forum points(forum currency) that have been accumulated over a period of time.

If you are not rewarding money, the reward you offer should be something tangible. For instance, you can reward them with forum currency that they can use in forum marketplace or use to advertise on forums. You can also reward them with membership upgrades, or even loyal user badge.
