Even though there are multiple methods to run a free marketing campaign, but for a better reach and effectiveness, you need money. You need to spend money for marketing. However, how to determine how much money to spend on marketing, in other words, how do you determine your marketing budget. What factors should you consider when determining your marketing budget?

Marketing budget setting is one of the most challenging activities in any organization. You must consider what your business seeks to accomplish. You should also look at what others are spending in your industry. That way, it’ll be easier to set a marketing budget for your business.

You should definitely consider your target audience. Bear in mind that targeting an audience can result in either increased or decreased advertising spends, depending on the groups you're targeting, but it can also increase effectiveness, so it's sometimes worth the extra spend if it means reaching somebody who will actually actively use your site.

I had much success using Google Ads many years ago, it brought many active members to my forums when I targeted specifically young adults (16-25). My Google Ad spend paid for itself three times over within a year, by my calculations.

Determining your marketing budget allocation involves: Assess your business goals, industry norms, historical data, available resources, and market research insights, by so doing you can compare the previous budget based on the current economic growth.

An important thing to know while setting the Budget is to never go above your capacity in an attempt to reach more people. Spend what you can afford, there will still be progress.
