If you have a website, getting traffic is very important. Your website will survive only when you get regular traffic. Whether your website is a business or just a hobby project, getting visitors on your website is super important. You can build traffic on your website through multiple methods, such as:

  1. Search Engines such as Google, Bing, etc.
  2. Social Media Sites such as Facebook, X, etc.
  3. Websites such as forums, blogs, Q&A sites, etc.
  4. Email Marketing
  5. Paid Ads (search engine, social media ads, advertising on blogs and websites, etc.)
How do you get traffic? What is your primary traffic source?

I don't have websites but I have multiple social media accounts and I get traffic on my social media pages from the people Whi follow me and other social media users that I reach through cross platform sharing and also advertising

If you have presence on multiple social media sites and if you have a lot of followers, you can easily build traffic to your websites by sharing your website content on your social sites. If you have managed to build social media pages, bringing in traffic is always easy

I advertise mainly on other websites. And even offer incentives to my members who advertise for us. It’s a win-win situation. I tried advertising on Reddit a while ago and that really gave me some unexpected pleasant results. So I can definitely recommend Reddit to advertise on and gain traffic.

When you are advertising on Reddit, how do you do it? Do you advertise directly on Reddit or hire Reddit influencer for marketing? I have never advertised on Reddit and this is something I am willing to try.

I think for most people the only reliable way to build traffic is through social promotion. That's because no matter what you do ranking on searches is very difficult and building genuine emails is even more difficult.

It is true that getting traffic from search engines is difficult compared to social media but if you have done SEO, it shouldn't be a problem. The main problem is most people try for high traffic keywords that have a lot of competition

I got a lot of traffic on a website I have that's exclusively based on video games thanks to videos I publish on YouTube. You should take into account the potential that YouTube has, because it's clearly more than you think and it can get a lot, a lot of traffic.

Well, I have heard of marketers diverting youtube traffic to their websites, however, when I tried myself I did not have much luck. However, this does not mean you don't have chance. I believe if you have youtube channel and a blog on the same niche, you might get some traffic on your blog through youtube

A person has to focus on unique content first. Many people make the mistake of creating low quality content and then they wonder why their blog is not generating traffic that converts. Selecting the right niche is also very important. It is always a good idea to gain knowledge about a specific niche and then start a blog. AI can also help you conduct research on various technical topics. If you own a blog where you publish authentic information, then the chances are that people may become more interested.

Without a doubt, getting consistent traffic is vital for any website, whether it's a personal project or a business. In my case, my strategy combines several sources, but I prioritize organic traffic from search engines because it tends to be more stable and of higher quality. I work a lot on SEO, optimizing content for relevant keywords and creating internal and external links that generate authority. I complement this with social media, sharing useful content that attracts my audience and encourages interactions. Additionally, I send periodic email newsletters to interested subscribers and, when necessary, invest in paid advertising focused on very specific segments. Combining these methods allows me to diversify my traffic sources, maintain consistent visitors, and increase the chances of conversions, without relying solely on a single strategy. The key is the consistency and relevance of the content you share.

Getting enough traffic for your website is not that easy. In fact, I believe that getting traffic for your website in the year 2025 is even harder comparatively to olden day. During the olden days, the policies of many advertising companies and clients were not strict. However, now thing have changed a lot. This is why SEO in 2025 is certainly not the same as it was in the mid 2000s. Most probably the best way to generate traffic is to obtain a large following on social media and understand how expert webmasters and SEO experts are driving traffic to their blog. This is a technical field.
