Spam can overwhelm a forum if not properly managed. What are the best ways to prevent spam while still allowing new users to post? Are there specific tools or plugins I should use to detect and remove spam automatically?
The only way there is, do you know which one? Moderating the forum, either by hiring a moderator or moderating yourself. It depends on your time or patience.

Captchas are honestly useless. There are thousands of programs that solve captchas manually. The only way to really prevent spam is by hiring a moderator.it is to make sure registration includes a CAPTCHA. Require email confirmation and enable anti-spam plugins.
