There is a lot of debates on whether website owners should use AI generated content on their websites or not. Some say it is bad and some say it can be beneficial. Recently, I read an interest report on Semrush blog about how AI content affects SEO performance. The report said 65 percent people who used AI generated content in their website had better SEO results. Here is a break down of data
Moderate improvement: 43 percent
No change: 24 percent
Significant improvement: 22 percent
Not sure: 8 percent
Moderate decline: 3 percent
Significant decline: 1 percent

Semrush report is rather informative. This means that a majority of those who employed the AI generated content experienced some form of boost on their SEO rankings. That's quite strange to me.

It's worth bearing in mind, at least in my opinion, that these results are likely to be from a survey of the website owners themselves, who are much more likely to report an improvement purely based on the fact that they're saving time and/or money on not having to purchase content as it is being supplied and created by AI either for free or extremely cheap.

I'm not saying AI content is necessarily bad, just that there are reasons to not be fully confident in the results of this particular survey.

Well, these results are certainly based on individual experiences of the website owners. Quality of AI generated content can be bad as well as good, it all depends on what kind of prompt you input and whether you fact check and do some editing or not.
