For a lot of people, especially small website owners, pop up ads are one of the most common ways to monetize a site. Have you used pop up ads, do you think it is worth putting pop up ads on your site? Well, from a revenue perspective, pop up ads are easy to set up and also pays quickly, however, these ads put off visitors as they find them intrusive. Sites that rely heavily on pop ups ads usually struggle to retain visitors. If your goal is long-term growth, this type of ads does you more harm than good.

Pop up ads are very annoying. It doesn't matter how they are used, I haven't seen anyone who's truly happy with them because they break whatever someone is doing being that they are intrusive.

I hate them with a passion, but they WORK!

I've had clients who used popups in the past and they have an insane coversion rate.

Pop-up advertisements are not that bad if you ask me. You can clearly tell your audience by leaving a disclosure regarding advertisement. Many website creators and bloggers have installed adblocker detectors. This allows them to kindly ask the visitor to turn off adblockers so that pop-up ads could work.

I will never use pop up ads because they interrupt the browsing experience and usually annoy readers more than they help. They might bring short-term clicks, but they hurt trust, kill engagement, and make a site feel low quality. I’d rather rely on cleaner, user-friendly monetization.
