A regular job is good because it brings you stable income and financial security in some ways (as it brings in regular income). However, a regular job is not always great because it restricts you form earning more. Therefore, self employment could be a better solution, you can work on multiple jobs and choose the higher paying one. Leaving a secure job to pursue self-employment is a bold step and but for many, it is also very rewarding one. I once had a stable job with a good salary, but I left it to focus on self employment. Transitioning wasn’t easy, making the decision was hard.

Have you ever thought about leaving a regular job to become self employed? Have you ever jumped to self employment from a regular job?

Not yet, but it’s something I’m curious about. I’d want to prepare well, build skills, savings, and a clear plan, before taking the leap.

I've already done it, for years and honestly it was the best decision of my entire life, once you have everything stable, everything planned, there's no turning back and even less when you've already made the decision, it's not easy, but it is the best decision of my life, more than recommended.

The lack of benefits and the challenge of stable income are big hurdles in self-employment, but the flexibility and freedom it offers can be very appealing. It’s not an easy decision when a regular job provides security. I think it also depends on the field, some areas offer more stability than others, so building a strong client base or reliable income stream can make it feel more secure. It's all about finding the right balance.

I am a self-employed person in the sense that I work online and there is no boss over me. I am my own boss and I set my own working hours. However, working online is not that easy after all. I must say that working online is equally hard as working in the real world. However, many people like me would always prefer working online for good reasons.

Yes, I've definitely considered it, and in fact, I've taken that leap in the past. Going from a stable job to self-employment isn't a simple decision; it involves risks and a great deal of courage. The hardest part is often leaving the security of a steady income and facing the uncertainty of the first few months, where income can be irregular. However, the freedom to choose projects, schedules, and clients is well worth it for those looking to grow and diversify their opportunities. For me, the transition was gradual: I first tried my hand at freelancing part-time before quitting altogether, which allowed me to assess demand and ensure I could sustain my expenses. It's certainly a path that requires discipline and planning, but the long-term benefits often outweigh the initial risks.

Regular job does not always bring financial security. In fact, in many cases employees are abused and overburdened with a lots of work. This has been the reality of many jobs in many different countries.

Under such kind of circumstances, it is always a better idea to consider self-employment opportunity. This may involve starting your own business and selling a product. Unfortunately, this also requires a person to invest and you may need money for that.

This is why people usually have a specific mindset. They believe that they should work harder and harder and save money. Self-employment is possible only when work is available. In many cases, work is not available and things can take a very nasty turn. Being unemployed and broke is a very hard period of life for humans.
