Lurkers and passive readers rarely post but they read posts, revisit forums. Do you think everyone who visit a forum needs to post or do yiu believe people who visit but rarely posts are also impoetant. How should forums recognize and account for their influence in community sustainability?

I don't think so, a forum needs active contributors and when there are lurkers who does not post or interact, how are they even contributing to the forum. You sure get traffic from these lurkers but traffic is not everything for the community.

I think that is questionable. Forum culture usually forms from a mix of visible leaders, active participants, and quieter members who reinforce norms without drawing attention.
