Why should websites refrain from automatically playing audio content?

Holy smokes it gets me nuts. I never used videos that would autoplay and ALWAYS hated it with a passion :D

Forum Launch Checklist: What Must Be Ready First?

My checklist: 1. domain name (based on the niche and some serious keyword research); 2. hosting and Xenforo installed; 3. nodes/forums set up - not too many, but enough to cover the topic. Plus the hello section, community updates (with the rules) and an offtopic. 4. 40-60 new topics to cover...

Mobile-Friendly Forums: Do Users Really Care?

Yes and yes. People are on their phones anyway, doesn't hurt to spend some time on our forums :D Kidding aside, it's almost a decade since all forums are mobile-friendly from installation, so not too much to worry about.

Handling Forum Spam Without Killing Growth

I have less restrictions than before (or maybe Xenforo got better), but either way I am very strict with it. Spammers get deleted and their IPs blocked instantly. Members who post junk replies are being messaged privately at first and then, if they keep posting crappy messages, they're out. Have...

How Do You Attract Active Members to a Forum?

Well, tricky question. Many years ago, starting a forum was a breeze. Now, after years of social media, it's getting rough. The upside is that, after a decade of destroying forums in the SERPs, Google is not favoring them again. So it's a good time actually to grow communities. As for starting...

Best Forum Software in 2025: Which One Stands Out?

Xenforo all the way for me. Tried them all back in the day (PhpBB, MyBB, SMF, Invision and vBulletin). Then discovered Xenforo. Just like with Wordpress, I just install it and never look back :D

How to Create Membership Sites for Profit

I created a freelancing course 10 years ago (geez, this long? :)) and it worked OK. Couldn't committ more, since my daughter was 1 and my time online was very limited. But yes, membership sites work and can easily bring in a decent buck. As for fees, you will get them with any payment platform...

Using Generative AI: Things to Remember

While it's easy to use, it needs to be heavily prompted and checked. Sometimes it takes more time to write an AI assisted article than just do it the normal way, as you constantly need to make sure it doesn't hallucinate and edit so that it's readable.

Generating Sales Through Black Friday Discounts and Holiday Deals

I don't do it, mainly because my clients had no problem up until now to pay for my services, so there's no need to discount them. For people who sell products (virtual or not), Black Friday can be a great time to end the year on a high note though.

What Kind of Content Do You Create

Mainly articles so far. I am trying to get myself to create some PDFs, but time is really tight. Audio and video, while great options, never worked for me.

    Why Mobile Optimization Matters

It's a direct ranking factor and a reason to be dexinded by good ole Google. Then we can discuss about people spending more time on mobile devices and less time on their PCs :)

Why AI Generated Content Might Not Be The Best For User Engagement

I always create my content briefs personally (based on the logic of the topic, so semantically, and also as a gap, providing extra info' than competitors). Then ask questions and prompt ChatGPT. We do need actionable content, articles written in an active voice etc. Otherwise it's just bad...

    AI Vs. Search Engines

AI hallucinates a lot and will give you the wrong answers. Search engines are listing various resources and you can find the answers. A little more "leg work", but chances are you will find decent resources.

How to Use ChatGPT in a Better Way?

Fact-check what it outputs, ask questions and prompt it towards what it needs to be doing. We need to remember that, at this time, ChatGPT and others are not really Artificial Intelligence as mainly predictive language models. Which means they generate words, they don't reason (yet).

What is the Purpose of Website Optimization?

Yes, website optimization is complex and has quite a few goals: first get people at your virtual door, then convert as many as you can into customers.

Driving Organic Traffic with Search Engine Marketing

It's harder and harder to do unless you have a hefty budget. Google Ads have increased in cost in the past 2 years. Always worth trying, at least to kick start your business and get some initial traffic/clients. Then you'd better off with SEO.

How to Start Selling Digital Marketing Services

It's a pretty difficult industry to get into, as some big players are already dominating it. What you can do is choose a handful of services or even one, and become an authority. Offer the best service you can within that small focused "chunk" and you can build a business out of it.

What are the best Google Analytics alternatives?

I am still relying on Google Analytics. Have developed some Looker Studio reports though and it presents the data in a more manageable way for my clients at least.

How Will ChatGPT Search Engine Impact SEO

Hmm, it's pretty iffy. AI Overview is eating into website's click-through-rates already. Don't know if chatGPT is going to become mainstream, but we never know. It's a weird time to do SEO though :D
