Welcoming old members on the forum is a great way to show politeness. Many forum owners send reminders of coming back to the forum. However, when they come back, they do not receive the attention. So, do members need to receive welcome email when they comes back?!

Yes, I do. I usually post on their wall or send private message welcoming them in the community

I think welcoming old members back to the forum is a great gesture. This shows that the forum owners care about their members and they haven't forgotten them. Sending a private message welcoming them is also quite crucial. Perhaps they may never leave.

I usually welcome returning members with a friendly message acknowledging their return and showing appreciation for their past contributions. Highlighting what they shared before or mentioning active discussions they might enjoy helps them feel valued. Keeping it warm and personal encourages them to re-engage naturally without feeling pressured.

It's always a very encouraging thing to do because the old member who came back will be appreciative that you kept looking out for their activity in the community and reaching out to them to welcome them back will show them that you value them.

If they have been away for an extended period, I think they deserve to be welcomed back as that is a way to show them that I truly care about them being a member of the community.

Who doesn’t like old members coming back? If I had a forum, I would definitely welcome them warmly and make them feel special. They carry history, knowledge, and a sense of familiarity that strengthens the community. I think recognizing returning members shows appreciation and encourages people to stay engaged.
