Small businesses face a lot of problems. One of the major problems is challenges form big business. As long as Amazon is there how can a random small business sell? Does this mean there is no hope? Well, small businesses can utilize social media platforms. For instance, if you use Facebook, you can technically reach to 3 billion people, with Instagram and Tiktok, you can reach over 1 billion people. However, to reach wide audience through social media, you need to build followers and run ads to reach your target audience. Social media marketing heavily relies on the number of your followers and money you spend on your ads.
 
When I was an online seller, I used social media platforms to reach a wider audience. Specifically, I relied on Facebook and Instagram, and I also promoted my online store through my domain website. This strategy helped me connect with more customers. While you can choose between organic and paid advertising, I focused only on organic advertising in my case. I did not have the money for paid advertising.
 
Organic marketing methods keeps your cost down, and when your cost is down, you make better profits. However, if you are running paid ads, your cost will increase and your profit will decrease. When advertising you also need to think about return on your advertising.

Interesting observation. Business is dog eats dog. However, it is also possible to survive along side another dog. I agree that keeping your profit margin low can help you sell more, when you sell more, your profits will always be high
 
Amazon as it is doesn't even have 10% of the e commerce market share in my country. That's because local e commerce platforms have risen up to offer what Amazon doesn't offer. Quick and cheap delivery is the edge that these local e commerce platforms have over Amazon.
