Certain pages seem immune to time, consistently attracting visitors long after publication. Is it topic selection, authority, backlinks, or regular updates? What characteristics have you noticed in content that continues performing year after year?

Old articles stay ranked when they still match search intent and continue getting clicks or backlinks. If the topic doesn’t change much, freshness matters less than usefulness. Strong authority sites also hold positions longer because search engines trust them more over time.

I think the biggest reason is that they continue to answer searchers' questions better than newer content. Evergreen topics, useful information, strong backlinks, and occasional updates can keep an article relevant for years, even as newer pages are published.
