Is it smarter to brand yourself or build a company brand from day one? Which approach brings more trust or flexibility? How do you handle branding if you're juggling multiple niches?

It depends on how many people there are, because if it's just you, you'll obviously have to create a personal brand. You can't create a business brand as a single person. However, if several people are going to work with you, then you can think about the business brand.

Branding yourself can build trust quickly and offers flexibility to explore different niches. However, building a company brand provides long-term stability and recognition. If juggling multiple niches, focus on a versatile brand identity that highlights your skills and adaptability across various areas.

Building a personal brand creates trust and relatability, especially if you're the face of your business. A business brand, on the other hand, can grow beyond you and feel more scalable. I think it depends on your goals.

If you are a blogger, vlogger, freelancer, author, it is important to build your own brand. When you are selling services, your brand name matters most. That bring sales. However, when you are selling products it does not matter who is selling, what matters is what is being sold.

I focus on building both a personal brand and a business brand at the same time. The business brand is to deflect the attention from me as a person such that my staff can run the business in my absence. But I also project my personal brand subtly to make customers have genuine connections. That helps to build trust.

Personal brand and business brand both matters for entrepreneurs, and even more for small businesses owners. You need to focus on both. However, if you are selling services, personal brand will help, where as for products business brand will be better.

Freelancers typically make use of personal branding to enable people see what you can offer. Business branding can be used for business owners who are selling products

An online business owner that seeks to sell multiple products online is better off building a personal brand over a business brand. All the products would be tied together under one identity which is the personal brand of the creator of the different products. For an online business that doesn't have plans to sell multiple products online, a business brand is best.

When one runs a business on a personal brand, anything bad or negative that happens to that person would collapse the business. But a business brand can be viable even with the absence of the proponents of the brand.
